Republic Bank
Republic – a word that suggests freedom, equality and independence. According to a popular online dictionary search tool, republic is as similar as the word state, a state that is represented by the people.
When Republic Bank first opened in the 70s, the founders only had one thing in mind – and that is to represent the people; to represent their needs and satisfy them; to represent their freedom and sustain it; to represent their well being and flourish it.
A Kentucky-based banking institution, the Republic Bank has grown to be one of the most admired commercial banks in the banking industry of the United States of America. Its current assets now amount to more than $3 billion from an accumulated thirty eight banking offices. Operated by the Republic Bank & Trust Company, Republic Bank has thirty six bank centers in 2 Indiana locations and 10 Kentucky locations, its other brand the Florida bank has a couple of bank offices in Florida. Republic Bank’s growing number has helped the company reach more people and offer a broader spectrum of financial products and services, whether its online or personal transaction, personal or commercial purpose.
Republic Bank did not start out easy in the industry. But its desire to serve the greater Kentucky State is their fuel to success. 1977 saw the beginning of a bank that will truly represent the people of Kentucky. The acquisition of an eighty year old county bank in Shelbyville resulted to the founding of the Republic Bank of Shelby County. In 1982, the Republic Bank & Trust Company was formed in Bardstown, Louisville and since then the company never stopped growing. Although it had to face many challenges along the way, the Republic Bank persevered.
A year later, the Republic Bank & Trust Company acquired the Republic Savings Bank Benton and the following year it expanded and established a new office in the Frankfort, one of the most economically flourishing districts in Kentucky. In 1985, the company acquired three more banks, two in Murray and Paducah and one in Elizabethtown. This resulted again with the establishment of a new bank center in Lexington.
To better serve its growing number of clientele, the Republic Bank & Trust Company decided to build a massive Corporate Center in Louisville downtown in the year 1987. This became the hub of all Republic Bank locations and transactions. Through effective centralization and standardization of operation, the Republic immediately opened another branch in Hurst Bourne Parkway, it will be the third Louisville center for the company. Two years later, it added two more offices in Bowling Green and Owensboro, the fourth Louisville center is established in 1990 at the Brownsboro Road.
In 1993, the loan division of the Republic Bank & Trust Company was gaining success and was evident in the construction of a three story edifice in Hurst Bourne Parkway, this building was named the Republic Bank Place. A new loan office was also opened in Lexington downtown.
A year later, an expansion of its Bowling Green bank center was made and a second Lexington branch operates in Harrodsburg Road. Before the decade ends, the company would already have opened its tenth Louisville branch in the Bardstown Road. 1999 was also a remarkable year for the Republic Bank when it launched its website enabling them to offer online services.
The company continued to open more bank centers from 2000 to present. Its latest so far is the Republic Bank in Covington. People have relied greatly on the services of the company because aside from quality and friendly Republic Bank interest rates, they know their investments are fully taken care of.
